We have long since wondered why it is that the "hard sciences" have lab sites - highlighting the ingenuity and curiosity of powerful research underway  - and we, in the social sciences, do not. We are changing that norm, choosing to publicize the incredible work of our students in ways that will benefit our own dissertation collaborative, and also others who will learn from our discoveries.

What do we mean by social sciences research?  In brief, social sciences research intends to understand the why's behind human behavior, as individuals, in relationship with others, and as part of a social system.

Our researchers are typically in their third year of doctoral studies, engaged in their dissertation research. The students whose work is showcased on this site are those whose research we supervise. Here we will publish announce our lab workshops, such as writing retreats, we will update our students' progress as they move into different phases of their research, and we will publish their completed dissertations so that others can learn from their discoveries.

This is a place to listen and learn. We listen to our research participants and to each other as we engage in the rigorous world of qualitative research. Our goal is discovery and we are proud to share our journey.
